Critical Role Season Four Unveils the Warriors Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the city.

Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires revenge.
  • Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
  • The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Explorers and Planners groups.

Fans can anticipate learning which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
